Old Sako ID help.
« on: June 05, 2011, 07:54:45 PM »
The only markings on this gun are "Sako Riihimaki"  I can't find another model from the 60's with a stainless bolt.

Thanks!

Here is a picture of one that's close to 100%

http://www.gunsinternational.com/Sako-Riihimaki-Rifle-222.cfm?gun_id=100177000  Your picture shows a aftermarket trigger or is that a trigger shoe over the orginal same for the stock.  If there is no caliber mark on the barrel that may of been replace.  You may want to do a search on the Marlin Riihimaki rifles you may have one of those??

Now why is it that as soon as someone sees a polished bolt  it's Stainless  ::) . Now I doubt very much that the bolt is stainless it's just polished. As for model try the Sako forums.
