Resizing the front sight on my H001T
« on: August 05, 2011, 07:05:31 PM »

My H001T came with a Marbles 45W front sight which is .445" tall from the bottom of the dovetail.
The height of this front sight causes the adjustable rear notch piece of the semibuckhorn rear sight to be just about bottom out, and the rear sight not on the elevator step, to get a 25 yd zero. (25 yards is about as close as I can get to a tennis ball without it winding me)

Did a little figuring, ordered a Marbles 53W front sight from Brownells and installed it.

The result was that, with the notch piece raised to be flush across the bottom of the semibuckhorn and the rear sight on the first step of the elevator (i.e. now it looks Mr Marble intended), my H001T is zero'd at 25 yds on the 1st step, at 50 yds on the 2nd step, and close enough at 100 yds on the 3rd step.

The difference between people who do stuff and people who don't do stuff is that the people who do stuff do stuff.
