Fella's,
The time has finally came. Another screw up that was soon to come. We knew it would. I got an e-mail from my gundealer who got this information from McCurdy. All 1894 variations other than the .44/.44sp. has come to a halt. No further notice was given to McCurdy as to when or if they would start up again.

Keep your JM Marlins if you have any. They will end up like the Winchester's of old.

I have attached a zip file that contains the e-mail from McCurdy to my gundealer. It's safe to open.

Best Regards
J.D.Gillis

Since they are going to continue to produce leverguns, what's not good about it.

I wonder if all these stories of Marlin closing is an attempt to get every one rushing to the gunshop to buy what is left on the rack .

We bought a XL7 and an 1894 Marlin  new and both are new and in good working order .This was before all the rumors of discontinued models, and the last story of Marlin closing .
Now I have not seen any of the MX ME rifles since there seems to be a run on them ,and we never see a used one put back on the Market . (CENTRAL ONTARIO CANADA )

Gotta mean people are happy with their guns , or they are all being shipped back for repairs .
Think more people are Happy with Marlin.
Happy

"Thanks to all of our Marlin® fans and customers for your questions and comments. There seems to be some incorrect information floating around. Be assured, Marlin® is doing great and continues to produce lever-action, bolt-action and rimfire rifles daily. We are currently focusing our production efforts on specific product offerings to ensure efficiencies for the immediate future, based on demand for certain models."

Well good.

I hope those "specific product offerings" include Lever rifles in 45 Colt.

Most of them are started by bitter former Marlin employees.

I went looking for a .45 LC marlin this spring. I could not find one anywhere. The local distributor (in my home town) said they had 10 on order for a year or more, and had no idea when they would get one.

The Marlin web site is a ghost... none of the contact info works. I emailed Remington an got a one sentence, unsigned reply a few weeks later saying that the .45 LC has been discontinued.
