Swede rifle/ammo story
« on: August 09, 2011, 10:57:45 AM »

About 10 years ago, my wife took all of her various deer rifles off to a gunshow, saying she was going to trade them for one and only one deer rifle, that she would use for the rest of her life.  (She was sick of having so many rifles in her safe.)

She came back with a Swedish Model 94 carbine, that had been beautifully sporterized.

I told her that she was crazy to get a 6.5 Swede, because the ammo would be hard to find, and she would be driving around looking for it every time she wanted to target shoot or hunt.  I gave her h*ll about it.

She admitted that I was right.

Three days later, several boxes arrived at the house by UPS.  In them were two battle sleeves of 6.5 Swede hardball, ten boxes of Remington 140 grain core-lokt Swede, and four boxes of Norma 155 grain Swede.

She had put it all on our credit card, and proudly announced that her ammo supply problem had been permanently solved.

So, be careful what you say to your wife! :-)

A set of reloading dies and other assorted paraphenalia and you will be set to keep her rifle fed.

Good for your wife.. :D  Sounds like she wants a simplier lifestyle, at least in the hunting area.  :o  I've said the same thing but never had the will power to stick with just one rifle. Closest I ever came was with my Browning BLR in .308 winchester. Hunted everything for 20 years or so with that gun & then one day it just went away  ::)

Nope, they don't even hold a grudge or give you lip and you can get used to the smell mostly because we smelled worse in those circumstances.
