Somethimg a little bit different
« on: August 23, 2011, 07:18:07 AM »
Here is a picture of my TC manlicker 17 HMR I made the forend using walnut and installed a Pecan end cap turned out Ok for the first try. I would kinda like to put some type of a metal band just behind the pecan wood maybe a sling type thing just have not came up with a style yet something like maybe a Ruger number 3 barrel band.

Looks great, whether your first try or not pard.

You don't see a lot of TC's with Mannlicher stocks.   Not easy to mount them secure without messing with barrel harmonics, and can be a little harder on the frame.    I had one a long time ago, loved the look but not in use.    Kinda like the Remy 600 I had converted to a bullpup design way back maybe 40 years ago...  beautiful stock, futuristic vent rib barrel, always got lots of attention, PITA to use.

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

It is mounted with just the two screws and barrel floats from an inch forward of the front screw, will see how it shoots when the weather cools down some.
Thanks

Nice work but a mannlicher on a TC just doesn't look natural to me but I haven't seen one in person, might change my mind.
