Model 12 pump

pardon my ignorance. but i would like to kno if its unhealthy to keep it loaded. Can it cause the tube springs to weaken?

 I have my grandfather's model 12 that stayed full for 30 or 40 years. It doesn't stay loaded now, but will feed just fine when I take it out hunting.

If your concerned about the spring taking a set, don't be. Modern springs will last longer than you will.  ;)

It would probably lose some bounce over a number of years but the spring is cheap and easy to replace too.  I certainly wouldn't worry about it.
