HANDGUNS ?
« on: September 04, 2011, 01:40:36 AM »
I think I am in a strange contemplative mood this AM.
A handgun can be a pistol or a revolver.
I admit to having a affair out of wedlock, these days, with revolvers.
Maybe it is my second childhood---as my wife, The Hen, calls it---I disagree almost wholeheartedly, I have never have gotten out of my first childhood.
I have had a long affair with handguns so I don't really consider myownself to be having an affair out of wedlock---now my little flings with .22's--rifles in particular--are definitely a transgression of the marriage vows.
I like handguns of all types--revolvers and semi-autos. They exemplify first line of defense/independence. They are to man what the first club was. Up close and personal.
Now, we seem to want to divide this family into a loyalty question---who/what are you loyal too.
I like/love to shoot---I aint very good at it but that is a personal problem.
Folks this is a family place here--and anybody who has a penschance for handguns is a member of my family.
Blessings
TEXAS, by GOD

You summed that up quite nicely, William.  :)

I have only taken out the bottom feeders, a so far. Nothing personel they are the only ones I can get my hands on. Those old revolvers seem to be full up with style and class, while even the finest auto is a business before pleasure type.

I like handguns in general. I own more semi-autos and shoot them way more but my goto gun when headid into the backwoods is q revolver. A 4in S&W model 19. The semi autos are fun and pack easy but theres no exception for the feel reliability and accuraccy of a k frame smith. Ive had my affaires with deer rifles and shotguns but i always go back to handguns. Its always with me when my rifle/shotgun is at the house or in the truck.

I look at both as marvels of man's ingenuity. The modern mechanics of the polymer semi auto and the class of a blued and walnut revolver, the functionality of a stainless hunting pistol, the nostalgia of a black powder revolver. Yep, I love them all too. ;D

A handgun is nearly always on me, even when I go to church (illegal in some states but legal where I live).  I own a pretty even spit between revolvers and semi-autos.  I also have a fair assortment of long guns as well.    Like Steve Lee says in his song "I don't care if their big or small, if their for sale, hell I want them all.   I like guns"   ;D

I am never more than three steps from a handgun. The two that are most often closest are revolvers. I own pistols, but there is comfort with "old friends".
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!!

pistols are fun to burn a lot of powder and they seem to conceal a little better, but, the gun beside the bed is a revolver. it's never had a FTF or FTE or a stovepipe.
