A Rare Moment
« on: August 29, 2011, 04:59:55 PM »
I somehow convinced my 15 year old daughter to go to the range with me today, she hasn't shot in years. If she practiced on a regular basis she could easily put me to shame. We had the Versa Pack and she mostly shot the .22 barrel but also shot her brother's 45 Colt Carbine barrel. Her first group with the 45 LC barrel was 1 1/4" after not shooting for a number of years. I set up a 2" spinning target at 30 yards and she was hitting that with ease every single time with the 22 barrel. I hope I get a few more of these days before she grows up and goes to college!

Yah, it's really fun when I can get my ladies out to shoot with me.  My wife hates bugs and heat, so usually she only comes in the fall/winter.  The youngest (14) loves to shoot, but hasn't been too gung-ho on hunting as of yet.  Both of them love my Savage/Stevens Crackshot the best.  I bought the wife a Charter Arms Pink Lady this year for her anniversary/birthday present.  She loves it.  Might consider buying your daughter something similar to get familiar with.  She could always get a CCW later on for college depending on where she is or just have it available.  ;)

I was real happy that she genuinely had fun shooting today. If I can keep her interest up I'll definitely get her shooting handguns, too. I'd love to see her get a CCW later down the road especially for college.
