Boy, some drs are really the pits.

Patty has been in an air boot for a partly torn ligament for 7-8 wks now. Even wears it to bed. She's been very uncomfortable with it and had 3 or 4 dr visits. last wk he sent us to a physical therapist. We asked the nice lady if there were some exercises Patty could do at home since it is over 100 miles round trip every dr visit and for there too, she complied. The dr said her foot was trying to lean in. This morning she took the boot off for a shower and removed the liner. The arch is on the OUTSIDE, in other words it's for a rt ft, not a left. 3 calls to the doc got us only for the nurse to say the boot was universal, no rt or left. I called the phys ther and talked to her. She said there most assuredly is a rt and left, depending on who made it and that was NEVER a reson for an arch on the outside of the boot, meaning opposite side of the arch. Called doc again, go back in the morning. We are not happy about this screwup. Patty has suffered needlessly. I put my left foot in it and it was very uncomfortable. Wish we had noticed it sooner. I know the feeling. I spent 6 months on crutches last year. Scan after scan after scan and two different arrogant doctors and then a third doctor who actually knew his stuff and had a decent bedside manner to finally find out it was severe achilles tendonitis.

The next time you see this individual the first thing you need to do is ask is for a written copy of the warantee for their work.  I'm sure they will be very accommodating and respectful.

I have changed doc's several time because of their incompetence and arrogance. Keep searching till you find the right one.

We got another boot today. We saw the docs partner, he was completely different. He saw that it was the wrong boot and said 8 weeks was a normal recovery time but she isn't near ready. I told him that the other doc even mentioned that her foot was turning inward, DUH, arch on wrong side, I imagine. He agreed it was the wrong boot. This guy was friendly and seemed to care, unlike the other one, he is her dr now as of today. She has suffered needlessly for 8 weeks. The other dr told her to walk as much as she wanted, this one said NO, walk as little as possible because her ankle is now affected from the wrong boot. I've calmed down a bit now but am still pretty ticked off by this. His nurse looked at the boot and said, who gave you this?? My wife said, you did. She acknowleged the arch being on the wrong side but said only the doc could say it was wrong as she wasn't qualified. It doesn't look at all like the new universal boot. I kept the old boot in case there is long term damage to her foot and ankle. I told him his partner never spent more than 2 min in the room and that if he hadn't been in such a hurry he might have found out why her foot was turning inward, this dr said that he will definitely have a talk with him about manners. This is totally unacceptable. And some people want to eliminate malpractice lawsuits.

Well, gonna disagree with you XD. P-man can do what he and wife wants to. If it was up to me, don't need a lawyer making money out of this case. Medical Board should yank his liscense for a couple months. Let him think about what he did wrong. gypsyman

  I have been seeing the same Dr for 25 years. I can't believe he is still alive. He was old the first time I saw him. He knows better than to try to put me on medication. If he can't find a natural cure for me which is often the case, I will find one on my own and he will verify it with test. I may cave into medication as a last resort, but I have been always been able to find a natural cure.


I dread the day he retires or dies. The few times I had to go to a specialist I found them to be arrogant and ignorant.

Patty is asleep, the new doc said for her to stay off it if she can and take 2 aleve 3x a day. She's in more pain and discomfort that she was 2 months ago. I agree with Gypsyman, no need to buy a lawyer another new home or lexus.  The other doc said last visit that her arch was falling and her foot turning inside, had he not have been in such a hurry he might have noticed HIS mistake.  Unless there proves to be permanent damage there will be no lawsuit, the lawyers are the only winners there. Our family dr is out of town this week and I believe still on the state med board, we will see him next week and report this incompetent jerk. Prayers appreciated. POWDERMAN.

Pattys hip hurts so bad she has to use a walker around the house now. Will see our family dr Wed and see if he can help her hip, also show him the wrong boot. I think he's still on the state med board, if he is he will pursue this. Wearing the wrong boot for 2 months has made her in worse shape than she was when she first saw the spclst.
