Shooting in the backyard....
« on: September 02, 2011, 10:49:18 AM »
Put a scope on my .22 hornet today and had to sight it in.  The only shells I had were some loaded with 55gr FMJ the fella at the local gun shop gave me.  They were ok for getting sighting in but as you can see not MOA grouping.  I wasn't going to complain cause Tom gave me a box of 50 at no charge cause he couldn't find any brass.  I've got some 35 grain bullets to try as soon as I get the 55gr shot.

Whille I had a target on the frame I got out my 357 Handi and shot 21 rounds of some reloads I had.  Since I don't have a bench, I thought both rifles shot decent.  I'm sure both would do much better if I had a good shooting bench to shoot from.

Can't wait to start working up some loads for my Handis.  Maybe next time I will have my 100yd backstop done and can use it.

My Hornet shoots 45gr. pills great. I tried some surplus 55gr. FMJ's and they didn't shoot good in mine either. My Maxi shoots everything great. ;D
