   Hey gethuntin:
Although I hated to do it, I couldn't find any other way for the bolt to clear the Scope on my 527 Lux but to take some metal off the bolt handle.

Just dropped in and got to thinking.

I own a 527 American in .223 and my field accuracy on 'otes could stand some improvement.

The rifle on sand bags and paper is outstanding for such a light swvelt outfit.

The thing I have not addressed is CHEEK WELD.

Now I too would be hesitant to cut and grind on the bolt .......... but there is another way to skin that cat .... (besides, are there suitable choices on lower rings after you do cut and chop?)

..............A build up on the stock.  One of these cheek pads?

Regards

i am in the same boat, i want better cheek weld, most cases on the bench its fine i can take my time but in the field it can be a different story. even with the bench theres days i can go from 5 touching to a 3/4 to 1 inch group and i am thining its cheek weld and concentration on my part.

Right now i am leaning towards a cheek pad or calhoon.

Sorry to be so hard on this cheek weld thing. But you aren't really gonna take a nap on the stock or live there so why can't you get a little out of shape for the shot and just shoot? Am I being too hard on you guys? Don't mean to be.
