Cal:  belly -up buddy.  Accuracy is less than desired but that may be more a function of the grip style than anything else.  It is a 'point-blank' belly gun.  Hope this helps.  Mikey.

Cal,
The accuracy that can be achieved with these little guns is not that bad. I don't know what your accuracy expectations are for this type of gun, but with pratice they are capable of COM hits at 25'. The key here is pratice, and I would hope you would if you intend to carry one. I am reluctant to tell you the kind of accuracy I have seen at the hand of Steve357 on this forum. The one that now resides in my pocket is meant for a last chance gun and I won't be shooting a falling plate match with it, but just might hit one or two if I did.

I used to have one of these little wheelguns in .22 mag, accuracy was ok for its size - but I always thought of it as a point-and-shoot last resort inside of 10'.

I actually used to carry it with the first round a 22 WMR Birdshot - which used to spray a pattern of a few inces at 10' - thought it might work as a "blinder" at close range.

However, I had a few misfires using different ammo and gave up on the idea of using a rimfire anything for defense.

exflatlanderNH,
Right you are! I didn't mean for my post to sound like an endorsement for the rimfire as a primary defensive weapon. I shoot quite a bit of rimfire and I can say that I have not had a problem with misfires with the CCI Mini Mags that I shoot. When I see misfires at falling plate matches they are usually with the bulk packed bargin ammo, and even those are rare. I just stick this thing in my pocket like I do my knife and it's allways there. By far the majority of the time it's a back-up for something bigger!

They are not meant to be accurate. They are a backup type gun meant for CQB. That being said, I have a Guardian in .32 NAA, a real pocket rocket. At 15 yards, I had no problem keeping the group in the 8" minus zero circle on an IDPA target. This was firing 1 shot each second. Slowing down I could keep a magazine full in about a 4" group.

For my nickels worth I'll tell you what I heard from a couple of locals around here In PA...they love 'em as fishing companions where nothing big that can eat you is afoot.  The smith that does work on my pistols feels they are one of the higher quality gun manufacturers.

By the way, Kahr manufactures the Guardian for NAA.

NAA has a couple of derringer models and some of them have better configurations for the hand than others.

Actually they are very well made.  The Guardian is made from 17-4PH.  I'm not aware of another gun that uses this high of a quality of stainless (ex buyer of steel for a manufacturer)

If you buy it let me know how you like it (I'm gettin' one of them, not sure which yet).

I'll pass the info along to NAA's President, Sandy Chisolm.  His office is right next to mine.  In fact I sat in his office the other day while he pulled out his whole line up and laid it out in front of me.  He had a Guardian in 380 with checkered hogue exotic grips and the custom leather holster that really caught my eye.

I have a 22mag/22LR convertible.  I love it.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how accurate they are for a little gun.  I have several friends that also carry them.  They have all been pleasantly surprised by the accuracy.  In a survival (not self defense) situation, a rabbit would be in real serious trouble out to 25 yards.  The CCI Maxi Mag +V will do almost 1300 fps out of the 1 5/8" barrel.  That is amazing to me.  I carried the little 22mag in my strong side front pocket for years.  I think Dale Towert estimated that the 22mag would be a 40% One Shot Stopper, although there was no shooting record with the cartridge to back up those figures (hence the estimate).  When I carry mine, I pretty much count on having to have a Central Nervous System hit to absolutely stop a determined adversary.  However, the report and muzzle blast and the hypervelocity little 22 bullet would probably deter all except the most determined assailant.  THE 22 MAG IS REALLY LOUD !!!!!  I often tell people that I carry the little 22 when I can't carry a gun, but I did not feel nearly as vulnerable with the little 22 mag in my pocket as I did without it.  I have now graduated to a little 32 Guardian for everyday carry.  I really love it also, but I am by no means going to get rid of my little 22.  As a matter of fact I just bought a pair of the oversize rubber grips for it.  Those grips make all the difference in the world as far as speed, accuracy and control for rapid shooting.  I strongly recommend them.

I have one with both 22LR and 22 Mag cylinders. I originally bought it to load with 22 Mag shotshells and clip on my pocket when hunting to deal with snakes. It doesn't make much noise, and it's very easy to carry. I even clip it on my safety harness strap when I'm in a tree stand, when it's legal to have it in the woods of course. They are somewhat difficult to shoot well, just because of their size, but you can get used to it with practice. I enjoy mine.
