Does anyone in the group shoot one of the Uberti 1858 in the "Navy" 36 cal. I have one in 44 cal. and enjoy shooting it but I think a lighter version would be interesting.

Yes, I've got one and like it a lot!  In fact I've got 2 in 44 (one Pietta and one Uberti) and for tin can killing and general fun shooting I like the 36 best of the bunch.  Part of it is I'm a cheapskate and the less powder and lead I fritter away on mindless plinking makes me happy.  I bought it used (and cheap) on Auction Arms about 5 years ago and that also makes the cheapskate in me happy.

Here's to Tin Can Killing!

Yep I got one and I like it more than my 1860 now. I'm suprised at how much power the .36 has. It's a mighty mite!

My pistol, a Uberti, is VERY accurate. Hope to take some grouse with it next fall, when I'm hunting black bear with Bess and the Jeager.

It does carry extremely well too, I carried mine quite a bit Elk hunting this year. Much more comfortable than the .44/1860.
Brown Bess .75 calibre carbine, .62 calibre Jaeger, .58 Calibre slug gun.

I gots a pair but right now I have the R&D cylinders in them.  Shoot 38spl with HB boolits.  What a hoot.  Very accurate  with 3f Elephant.  Can go 10 stages without a hic-up.

I have got one also, and it is the best shooter I own.  They are difficult to locate as I have been looking and they are out of stock at most outlets.
DGWs list them; however they are overpriced.  There is nothing better than an Ubert Navy .36 with 24 grains of 777 a wonder wad with a 83 grain .380 round ball...hard hitting.
