Texas Drought
« on: September 12, 2011, 11:09:34 AM »
Texas had her share of fires this year; the prime cause is the drought.  The attached will give you an idea just how dry it is here. The future doesn’t look good either, according to the “experts” we can expect at least one more year of drought and possibly two.  This is reminiscing of the Oklahoma Dust Bowl of the thirties. (For those that don't know.......what is called a "tank" here in Texas might be called a "pond" where you live.) ::) ::) ::)

It's a sad thing.

Western part Okla is experiencing the same drought and fires (although our fires haven't been anywhere as bad.)
It'll start showing up at the grocery stores before long in case anyone doesn't think it affects them.

I live in SC and I noticed the other day that even the pine trees in my yard are starting to turn brown.  It's not the annual shedding of needles, but the whole tree.  It has to get very dry to do that to pines.  I think almost the entire US is under some kind of drought. The worst I can remember is 1986.  It was so dry, my well went dry and it was 120ft. I had to have it drilled deeper. Hope it lets up soon.  We're due for rain at the end of the week.  We were all hoping to see some rain from the hurricanes, but no luck in my area.

Well they're showing us a little hope on the 7 day forecast, next few days have rain chances.
On the predictor radar it looked like some of it might make into the panhandle and NW Texas.
