I have a 45 colt mould that drops a 452 dia. 230 grain bullet.I was wondering if it would be possible to PP these for use in a 45-70 for light target and small game loads.Powders I have on hand that I can use are Unique,Trailboss and Bluedot.

I've done it but could never get it to shoot that accurately.  Something else I tried was to place two 255 grain patched bullets over a medium load of Unique.  They printed 10" - 12" apart at 25 yards.

I use 45 pistol bullets paper patched in my Marlin 1895 when I want very high velocity loads. It's not hard to hit 2400 fps with 250 grain bullets using IMR 3031. They are very accurate to 200M, but as you would expect from a pistol bullet not as good past that as a real rifle bullet. #454424 cast from pure lead at that speed is one wicked varmint load though, makes a mess of a coyote. Don't think I'd shoot anything I wanted to eat with it though.

Speer 250 Swaged SWCs from the factory {far left 3 bullets}...easy way to get into PP'ing for .458" bore guns!

I have done it as well, with a 230 gr 452 bullit and reloader 7 very accurate out to about 150 from my marlin guide gun, Not so good from an older marlin with micro groove rifleing. Just try it and see if it works :)
