Is there a short action Axis ?
« on: September 20, 2011, 03:04:01 AM »
Looking at the overall length of the Axis on the Savage website shows all calibers with 22" barrels to be 43 7/8" long.
  I would think a 223 or 243 would be a short action and should be shorter than a 270 or 30-06 ?
Is thee information incorrect .   ???                   Thanks,     Jed
Edit on 9/24,
I bought a new 243 Axis and it is a long action,  I think its a cost saving feature as all calibers that are available have the same bolt and configuration.
