Encore 12ga turkey gun
« on: September 27, 2011, 10:40:54 AM »
I just ordered one of these and was wondering what your experience is with this set up.  Have you ever tried shooting slugs with an improved choke tube?  Hoping this will be capable of an all around compact shotgun.  Whats your thoughts??

If you haven't shot one before be prepared for some major recoil especially with 3 inch turkey loads. Be sure to have a rag handy to wipe your nose because it will kick the snot out of you. Other than the recoil it is a light(the reason it kicks so hard) handy to carry shotgun. I haven't tried any slugs with it. Good luck with it

+1 on recoil. It will rattle your fillings loose but is deadly on turkeys. It has good sights so it shouldmake a fine slug gun with the right choke. I don't have one but borrowed my uncle's. I want a 20 gauge version myself.
