fire glow sights on T/C's handguns
« on: September 17, 2011, 05:43:10 PM »
Has anyone seen fire glow sights for the contender or encore handgun barrels? If so what did they use to do it? I know every one is into scopes, but I still like iron sights for some things.

What I think there for a muzzle loader and they must be taping the contender or encore barrel to take them.

Thanks

A few months ago I emailed someone who had a contender barrel for sale on another site. He said the red front and green rear were off a muzzleloader barrel, but didn't say what brand. Trying to get info from some people is like pulling teeth. I emailed TC before they moved, they said their MZ sites are of a different profile and wouldn't fit. I gave up on this idea and put a scope on it.

From this article: http://www.castbullet.com/makeit/minimax.htm "The rear sight would be a Williams #009671 WGRS T/C ($37.95) with a Williams #070919  Firesight Ghost Ring slide ($9.95) with two green fiber optic dots."

I made the front sight a fiber optic by installing a short red fiber optic rod in a V I filed in the top of the sight.  All the above was on a 10" octagon barrel. Another option for barrels with a removeable front sight is a HiViz shotgun front sight installed in one of the barrel's 6-48 holes.
