can't find s single six
« on: September 29, 2011, 01:31:15 PM »
About a year ago I asked about shooting, well mostly loading and unloading a single action revolver if you only have one hand. There were a lot of very positive responses from people who had similar situations.  A good friend borrowed me his single six. I may not be fast loading it but what a blast to shoot.  I'm looking around the gun shops, they tell me they sell about as fast as they trade one in. I live in central Minnesota, is this typical everywhere?

Why waste your time driving around to gun shops?  If you check on gunbroker (the auction website) there are dozens of them for sale brand new.  Pay the asking price and arrange to have it shipped to an FFL at a gun shop convenient to you.  The gunshop will charge a price for this (ask first), but it shouldn't be very much.  Most charge $25 to $50.

I have never understood it when folks say that they can't find a particular gun.  There are three major gun auction sites, and you can find anything you want.

  Hope this helps.

I must be old school, I like to pick it up,hold it in my hand, look it over, pull the hammer back and maybe drop the trigger. Part of the fun is haggling over the price.  I like to support my local gun shop.

Have you been to Ahlmans near Fairibault?

Single sixes don't last long on the shelves here in SE Minn.

I've had pretty good luck with Gunbroker though.
