I was having a hard time hitting anything with it, but I'm sure it was me, not the gun. I noticed I had a tendancy to anticipate the recoil and shoot low. Also my first attempt I was using a cup & saucer style grip, which caused the bottom edge to dig into my hand. It was uncomfortable.
I switched to different grip but by then I was getting a little tired from shooting it, and I'm sure I developed a flinch. That's why I want to set my S-I-L up with some mild loads. I can't remember if I put 15 or 20 rounds through it. It wasn't many. I was using Bufalo Bore 400 & 440 grain ammo. Stout stuff.
The barrel was 7.5" I think with no muzzle brake or porting of any kind. I found the revolver to be very front heavy, probably an attempt to control muzzle flip. I think it worked too, because as I recall the recoil felt less uplifting and more of a straight push. Overall I think Freedom Arms did a good job of making it controllable but make no mistake, this thing bites.
