Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Where is the snow? It's 23 September, we should have snow on the ground by now. When I went to get the paper this morning it was a balmy 42 deg. Paper said possibility of frost this weekend.
Snow Machines are still under the shed, they are usually parked in the back yard by now. Still driving the rear wheel drive sports cars, they should be parked under the shed for the winter. I'm still driving around with the top down due to sunny 60 deg weather during the day.
Moose season ended with no snow. Rivers are running high, they should be down to almost no flow. As it gets colder in the hills the Glaciers quite melting, and the ground water freezes and stops flowing. Causing the rivers to drop fast. Has not happened yet. Five years ago we were stranded in mid September, when the rivers quite flowing. Had to get air lifted out.
I remember years when we had two feet of snow on the ground by the end of September. (Have seen two feet of snow the 5th of September one year). Don't look like we are going to have any this September, too warm. Oh Well, I'm not complaining mind you. Just commenting.
Time to go into Fairbanks for my work out at the gym. Guess I'll leave the top down on the Miata for another day. Temps are only supposed to get to 50 today, still warm enough to feel the wind in my hair as I drive. Got one of those sweaters from Cabela's with the Wind Stopper material in it. It's better than a leather jacket, warmer, and not as stiff. Wore it yesterday, but had to take it off once I got into town, too warm. I'll try it again today, since it's cooler it should do fine.
Y'all have a nice day now, hear. Rog
