Adding cheekpiece to rynite stock

I have been favorably impressed by the inexpensive plastic stock I use with my MGM 6mmTCU carbine. I would like to add a cheekpiece, but Im not sure what adhesive I should use. I read the stock is made of polypropylene, which does not bond well with many glues, including epoxy. Also, what finish do you recommend to match the rest of the stock? I think Ill make the cheekpiece out of some combination of epoxy putty and basswood.
