I see this as a Maxine Waters "we'll socialize your company" moment, when a progressive makes a slip and shows their true evil colors. First suspend elections, then appoint instead of elect, justified because of a "crisis"...

I agree completely.

Is this statement any surprise, given her party affiliation?   A suspension of elections is the frist step towards a socialist, fascist or communist state.  Focus on the economy?  They want to focus on more government control of said economy -- price controls and further taxes and regulations.   Perhaps they should look at the history of the former Soviet Union.  That is a good case study for the liberal economic model.  We all know those results.

Yep if they had term limits they could focus on the job not the reelection.
 
And I would go one step further by suggesting that a term limit be "cummulative" lets say like once you serve 10 years holding  ANY elected office (local, state or ferderal level) you are no longer eligible to hold elected office again. Lets say you spend 2 years in the local level 4 years at the state level then you may only serve 4 years in the federal level.
 
We could eliminate the ultimate parasite class which is the career politician this way.

Yes, Marx wrote extensively on the evils of  capitalist shower heads. 

I'm not sure what baambo is, but he sure is not a communist.  Darth Vader maybe. He's not even progressive. 
He wages wars all over the planet, gives trillions to big business, and cuts social services.

But he sure can talk good.

I would add that if congress can't balance a bugdet by 2359 hrs on Sept 30, then they get sequestered in chambers until they do so.  Then they would be summarily relieved of their position and duties and BANNED for life from holding any public position whether elected or appointed.  New elections would be held on the 1st of November nationwide.  Members of congress would be mandated to be in chambers for EVERY vote.  I have to come to work, so should they.  More time at work, less time to hob-knob with PAC's and lobbyists and travelling the world at our expense.  Congress would only meet for four months per year.  That should be enough time to produce a balanced budget.  We have more than enough laws already.
