groove on .223 case

ive noticed a groove on my brass about halfway, i can feel it with my fingernail on some of them,it goes all the way around,im usins rcbs full length die.do i need to back it off a little?

.......You need to take a new or fired case and clean the outside of the case and lube it as you would normaly.......with the die touching the shell holder then resize the case......does the case have the "groove" now.?......are you making sure the cases are trimmed to the trim length?.....if the case is at trim length or less then if they have the groove the die is the wrong internal specs....OR the shell holder is incorrect thickness...OR your cases are swollen so large from a misshaped chamber they won't size down without deforming......OR have you exposed the cases to heat to dry them or trying to anneal them?.........this all is based on a horizonal groove.....around the case...if the "groove " is lengthways up and down then the die is scratched and needs heavy cleaning.......or has some hard particle embedded in the die surface....again cleaning with a solvent and even fine 400-600 grip sandpaper with oil in a spinning split mandrel.........or return to RCBS...........get back with more detailed infor if things are fixed by these common solutions that works for most similar problems.....good luck and good shooting-loading!!!!

i think my die just needed cleaning,clean it a nd tried it no mark.
