« on: September 22, 2011, 04:04:39 PM »
in 223. Traded for one, does anyone have one? Wonder how they shoot..........? My 17 Fireball , 22-250 and 308 700's all do very well. This time last year, I didn't own any Remingtons........last one I owned was 270 in the late 80's..........

I've not worked with my Model Seven Predator .223 enough to answer that really. I've tried a few loads and most all will stay around or under an inch at 100 but I don't consider that anything special in a .223.

Most of my time and effort with it has been trying to find an accurate load for the Barnes 53 TSX. I'm not really happy yet but have one that seems to shoot in the 1.25" to 1.5" range. Adequate for what I had hoped to do with it which is take a deer with a .223 but I have so many rifles to take I dunno if I'll get around to it or not. I doubt I have even a couple hundred rounds down the tube maybe no more than 100.

It just hasn't been a priority for me. Now my .17 Fireball Predator is a tack driver and stays around a half inch with factory ammo. I bought a huge supply of it when I got the rifle and so far haven't even bothered reloading for it tho I have a very large supply of bullets to do so one of these days.

Too many guns and too little range time put in.

I've had excellent results with 40 grain Fiocchi 223's, even in my AR15 with 1x7 twist! Waiting on rear scope base for my Model 7...............

Shot a two shot 100 yard group, both holes a tight figure 8 with the 40 grain Fiocchi's, didn't have a bunch, hince a 2 shot group.............some other rounds would shoot 2 into a half inch then 3rd would open it up to 1 1/4, more me than rifle. Laying in bed of pickup shooting..............
