Boring day at the local gunshow
« on: October 02, 2011, 03:58:00 PM »
Nothing better to do today so I went to the local gunshow.
This is held about 3 times a year and for some reason it just isn't much to see anymore.
The same old stuff at way out of line prices.
It is a 3 day show and Sunday is about the worst day to go.
Everything has been picked over and the good stuff already sold.
Lots of people and no one buying.
Today was no different than the past except for one thing.
There was no H&Rs there at all except one.
It was a new in the box CBA 22" extractor in 222 Rem with scope rail.
I had to look twice, yep, 222.
The asking price was $275.00 +.
I asked if he would take an offer and hit him at $230.00.
No way he said which I knew but it broke the ice.
What is the best you can do I ask.
$260.00 + and I counter at $250.00.
He said split with me.
$255.00 + transfer & tax.
Make room for another Handi.
Maybe today wasn't such a waste after all !!!

Great job. I have an older Rem 700 ADL in .222 that has been my go to rifle for woodchucks and lately coyotes. Probably my favorite round. Good luck with it

I didn't know they made a handi-rifle in 222.

LONGTOM,

You done good!  I haven't seen any Handi's in that caliber around here.  I had a Remington 700 in 222 years ago, but somebody stole it.  Never bought another one, I picked up an .223 instead.  But the triple deuce was one accurate caliber.  Best of luck with the new Handi.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.
