My Marlin 795 has a habit...
« on: October 02, 2011, 08:21:00 AM »
It has a habit of allowing scope rings to slip.  I believe I will try to use one of the mounts shown below.
Has anyone tried one of them on a Marlin 60 or 795 ?  If so, how does it work for you ?

I took a small punch and put a ding in front of the front ring and it was fixed.
of course, some don't hammer on their rifles.

Thanks Bugeye..that's somewhat how air rifle rings are "staked".  They have a pointed set  screw in the bottom of the rings or down through the mount.  That screw when tightened, drives just a bit into the receiver area..  I'lll keep your method in mind if the mounts don't seem feasible.
