.223 in a .204...???
« on: October 06, 2011, 12:36:07 PM »
I have 2 Varmint barrels, one a .223 and the other in .204 Ruger.   Both scoped and zero'd the same, so transition from one to the other will be seamless.....NOT!!!

I realized how sweetly the .223 will chamber into the .204 barrel.  OMG, what if I screwed up and actually fired one.....does anyone know what damage would be done?  I expect the .204 barrel to be history, if I should even survive the blast....

I REALLY need to be aware of correct ammo......!

Anyone?

Unfired 223 brass might chamber, fired brass won't, neither will a loaded round, I just tried Win 45gr JHP in my 204 Handi, no go, action won't lock up by a good 1/8"+.
