Source for 25 WFC (not the 25-20)
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:13:46 AM »
I found out after a $50 investment in 25-20 ammunition that my very old Winchester high Wall is chambered for its predecessor, the 25 Single Shot (although the barrel is still markes 25 WCF).  Can anyone help me locate some shootable rounds?

Hello, inthebeech.  I found out after an $89.00 "investment"  Bertram .25-25 Stevens brass was .060" too short!  Have order on the way from Rocky Mountain Cartridge Co.  I have ordered .25-20 S.S. brass from them and it's top notch.  Now it is turned from solid rod, and some folks have a problem with that, but with the target loads I was using, it worked just fine. Best of luck!

Isn't the 25WCF just the plain old 25-35 cartridge. The brass is available for that at midway I believe..... ;)

Regards,

Nope, the 25 WCF is another name for the 25-20.  The OP has a 25-20 Single Shot, which is another cartridge altogether.  Lots of similar sounding names for vastly different cartridges!

Jamison Ctg. also makes new .25-20SS cases.  Expensive but better quality than the Bertram in my experience.  I also have a Win Lo-wall in .25-20SS.

The last time I checked Midway had 25-20 Single Shot brass on clearance.
