I had just picked up more trapping property today with a creek and small ponds surrounded by corn. When I had introduced myself to the land owner, I had presented him my business card and told him that I'm also an instructor for the IL DNR Hunting & Trapping Safety Courses. After I had asked him if I could trap his property, he had told me to trap everything. His exact words were "Trap it all! Those critters are living high on the hog at my expence!"
Since I already knew that he has one deer hunter hunting his land, I had asked him to put this hunter in contact with me. I explained to him that I wish not to be out there and accidently disturb his hunt while I'm trapping. I went on to say that I'd rather work with this gentleman than to piss him off and ruin his hunt while he is out there. He told me that he can very much so appreciate me doing that and he'll talk to the hunter.
