Governor makes important visit to Oxford    Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour paid a visit to Oxford this week to help celebrate the expansion of a local company. Barbour joined officials from Olin Corporation's Winchester Division for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event took place at Winchester's new Centerfire Ammunition manufacturing facility. The expansion of the operation is expected to create approximately 1,000 new jobs in Oxford by 2016.

“It is great to be in Oxford celebrating the opening of the Winchester Centerfire operations less than a year after Olin officials announced they were bringing 1,000 jobs to Mississippi,” Gov. Barbour said. “I appreciate the commitment by Olin and the support provided by the Mississippi Development Authority, Lafayette County and the city of Oxford to bring Winchester Centerfire here.”

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

What we really need is a higher standard of rimfire ammo. Including target grade. I was a long time fan of Winchester 22 hollowpoints for hunting. They were great for a long time. When I've bought them lately they have been no good. Lots of duds. Some even looked like they sank with the Titanic, were brought up, encrustations and all, then sold.

Their centerfire components are excellent, though. Excellent primers.

Likewise with Remington. I've had a lot of problems with Remington rimfire. But their pistol brass is first rate. Best in the business as far as I'm concerned.
