Rossi Ranch Hand
« on: May 31, 2011, 04:11:39 PM »
I saw these for the first time at a store in North Canton, OH today. Sticker was about $530.00. Does anyone have one and how does it perform? I can't image they would be all that accurate, but fun to play and spray. I am interested in how well does it function? Thanks.

I haven't seen one in my area of the country yet.  All I have seen are the ones priced at $1200, not the Rossi's.  As to accurate, they should be as accurate as the shooter, all 6 of my Rossi lever's are.  I think they would make one hell of a truck, UTV gun. ;)  DP

I've got one in .44 and it shoots nice and has a nice smooth action. I got to hand pick it which is allways nice with the Rossi 92's as some are a bit rough out of the box and can have poorly indexed barrels....

The only complaint is the sights were way off! I need a higher front sight but I've got mine on target by lowering the notch in the rear buckhorn..... I could still use a taller front sight but with my rear elevator removed and the re profiled buckhorn resting on the barrel I can hit cans regularly at 25 yards and chest sized plates at 100 yards off hand. I use a push/pull grip and don't find 240 grain moderate loads to be a hard to control.
Up here in Canada this is a real handy pack gun for us because we have restrictions on carrying handguns in the bush but the Ranchhand is considered a short barreled carbine up here which is good to go!

Here's a picture of my modified rear site, and a clip shooting steel at 100,50 and a can at about 25yards....
