Open Sights Replacement

 :)  Howdy! I have looked at a few rifles in 30-30 caliber, especially the Marlin 336. I looked at this rifle in two different stores and both had a bent rear sight. If I buy one, I do not want a scope so it will be open sight only. What would be a good sight replacement for a Marlin 336 or similar lever action rifle? Your recommendations appreciated. Williams Guide Reciever sight. You may have to install a taller front sight too. Get a plain blade ,not bead, front and you will have as good a sight set up as you can get. There is a reason this is the type sights seen on most military rifles.

I really like the Skinner sights.  ;)  Have a WGRS also, but not super thrilled with the adjustment on it.  8(

A bead has an indefinate aiming point, I have missed several critters before I wised up. Also the sun can really throw a wrench in the works when it hits a bead.

I went to the skinner site, and I think they are a good way to go too. Nice thing about buying from them is they give you some help selecting a front sight, with Williams you are pretty much on your own. If you look at the front sight section of their site, you will see that they recommend a blade too.
