« on: January 11, 2004, 11:00:26 AM »
I'll be loading 3 NON-TUBULAR magazined 30/30s[bolt action/clip fed, rotary magazine,single shot] for fur[fox/coyote].
I have a supply of surplus 147 and 150gr FMJ pojectiles,as well as some 110gr FMJs.
Suggested loads?
Thanks.

I have not used surplus powder or FMJ's. I have had good luck loading Hornady 110g pointed bullets with IMR4198, and Remington PSP 125g bullets with H335. I loaded the 110 grainers to 2800 fps, and the 125's to 2550. I liked the 125's best, they carry better than the 110's. In our Savage model 340,most 150g pointed bullets are too long and need to be seated deep in the case to fit into the clip.

Thanks for the feedback. My friend has a Savage 325C bolt action/clip fed,I have a Savage 99-A rotary magazine lever action[26"] and a Savage 24F 30-30/12ga combination gun. Debating about selling that 99-A
30/30-or trading it[if possible] for 99 in 250/3000.
