Leaving powder in barrel chamber

I loaded Blackhorn 209 powder in my T/C Triumph .50 cal. about 10 days ago and haven't fired it since. How long can this powder be left in the barrel without causing corrosion?

Unfired powder doesn't cause or contribute to corrosion.

I have let it stay in from season to season in my TC Encore . Only in a clean bbl though which is SS.

I guess it's not so much a corrosion issue (as said already, there isn't one) as much as a question of how high is you're tolerance level for the possibility of a misfire.

BH 209 is a lot less susceptible to absorbing moisture than black powder, Pyrodex or Triple 7 but it will eventually get damp.  How long I ever let it sit in the barrel was driven by how wet it had been outside and whether it was taken out on a cold enough day that the rifle sweat condensation when I came back inside.

If you have been out in the cold with your rifle, don't bring it into a heated area like the house.   That's when you get condensation problems.  Leave it in the garage or shed.
