Remington Rolling Block rifles

Can anyone tell me if Remington produces these receivers themselves or have it done by someone else?  For some reason I was under the impression they were manufactured in Italy.  Thanking you in advance for any information.

Boy I wouldn't think so Ronald.  I know that they are asking $1400 + for their RBs and their actions don't look like the 3 I have.  Mine are from Navy Arms and ran about $200 each.  The Navy Arms actions, which are from Italy, have brass trigger guards and are color case hardened (or have that look).

You'd think that it would be pretty poor advertising for Remington to have their actions made out of country.  I know that Navy Arms charges about the same amount for their top of the line RBs but the 'American Made' has got to be a selling point.  In addition, Remington would have to have 'made in Italy' stamped on the action.  Have you got one there to look at?

PS - I was just at Lone Star & Ballard and boy are their rifles expensive in comparison.  For the price of a Navy Arms or Remington out of the custom shop you can have their actions alone!  I can't believe, what with investment casting, that they are reasonably priced.

I called Remington Custom Shop this morning and they advise that the entire firearm is manufactured in Ilion, NY.
