This is no definitive answer, but the Scout is chambered for the 270, which is a very high pressure cartridge. But it is smaller than the magnums. Unless the factory comes out with a mag barrel, I would not do a rechamber. Plus, the scout is quite light, a magnum would be quite tough on the shoulder. I read on another sight a report by the owner of a 35 Whelen Scout, despite the good stock and butt pad, it was very tough on the shoulder.
