Congrats I always wanted a set of those.  8)  I've heard good things about the 250 gr. XTP bullets in a sabot.  It's a lot cheaper to buy the bullets bulk and buy your sabot's bulk rather than pay em to put it in that little package together for you too.  ;)

Specifically, this one sized for .451-.454 bullets in a 50 cal: http://www.mmpsabots.com/black.html

One quick thought is that those have a 1:48 twist if memory serves, so it may work ok with sabot's and ok with ball and patch.  A 1:48 shines usually with conicals, so you could try a TC Maxi Ball or Great Plains Bullet etc.

Thanks I realy like mine both the rifle feels like the 30-30 the pistol feels like a hand full .Seems like its a 1 in 38 twist .These are fine shooters an a great blind gun .Got the rifle off a man that quit hunting and it had a book an all he said shot 4 deer with it an fired it 50 times or so . The pistol the same way but shot a few times more .

Well we are both wrong these have a twist of 1-20  with a grove depth of 6 thousants . Not much for round balls but great for the maxi an minnie .Sabots i'll try 255 or 300 gr. with 80-90-gr of 3 ffg black powder

I had a Scout pistol in 54 and dispatched many deer and hogs with great results. I have a Knight Preditor 50  pistol I have used for many years. It is the only muzzleloader I use anymore and have made many shots at up to 100 yards with great results. I have found that you need to stay away from the sabbot loads and stay with at least 300 gr bullets for good velocity and power. You will find that if you go any lighter velocity will drop off  a great deal. I use the TC Maxie Hunter 350 gr bullet with 90 gr of equivalent black powder loads and get more velocity and better velocity than the lighter 240 gr and 260 gr. This has been proven to me from 3 Black powder pistols ( a scout, Tradidions and the preditor ). The heavier bullet weight allows better accuracy and better burning of the powder. I first was informed of this from Knight with the preditor and have found it to be true in the field , range and on the Chronograph.  My mother ( before she died) dispatched a large Bison Bull with this load in a 9.5 inch barreled Traditions Buck Hunter Black powder  Pistol at 75 yards and the 375 gr Maxie ball with one shot and great results She and my dad  also now gone  used this load on many deer and hogs with great results out to 100 yards. I still use it and have had great results. Hope this helps.
