Best Encore grip for short fat fingers?

 Ok, so I wound up doing some trading today and came away with a very lightly used .308 Encore with a Nikon 2.5-8 BDC pistol scope.    My problem is that the walnut grip just feels too short and while I can definately reach the trigger, I would like to have more grab on that slick trigger.
 I have very wide hands, with fairly short and thick fingers...the factory walnut grip just isnt comfortable for me at all...feel like I would have no control over the recoil.
 I also own an old style Contender and the factory grip on it is comfy to me...have no trouble at all with it shooting my .375 Win. barrel or .35 Rem. barrels.


 Any other short fingered, thick handed guys out there have any suggestions on an after market grip that may suit me better for the Encore pistol? Was thinking of maybe a pachy grip?

The Encore rubber grip is smaller than the walnut. It is also not a slick to handle recoil better too.

Maybe talk to some of the custom grip makers and have them make one up for you. I don't have hands like yours but I don't particularly care for factory grips either especially the factory rubber grips. The distance from the back of the grip to the trigger is too long for my taste. A while back though I found a homemade set that reduced that distance and it really changed the feel of the gun. Definitely worth a few extra bucks to get a grip that fits you right.

The Pachmayr rubber grip should fix you right up. I had the same problem, the Pachs have a shorter reach to the trigger . Not very expensive either.
