In the woods
« on: September 10, 2011, 07:38:05 AM »
Got out into the woods today with my 5 and 7 year olds.
Good time.

I noticed that there were no rub lines where I typically see them in the woods.
I know that the bucks kept their racks on longer into the spring.
Does this equate to a delay in new growth and a delay in rub lines returning?
What are you guys seeing out there?

Finally saw some rubs.

I was worried that we had disrupted the buck activity with so much activity around not.
It appears that the established rub lines in the woods are still intact.

I've noticed over the years about a 2 to 3 week shift in the scrape and rub lines in my area.  It seems the earlier the scrapes and rubs appear, the earlier snow flies

I need to learn to edit before I post.  That first sentence in my last post sounded a bit weird.

Am I just off in my thinking or did the rubs start a bit late in western Ky too?

So a change in movement patterns?

I haven't seen many wooly worms on the road or around the house this year.  Just a few.  Usually run over tons of them during the day.
Another oddity away from the seasons norm.
