I am thinking about buying one of these barrels. Can anyone give me any info on them. What are you using for shells and how far out is it giving you a good pattern. I have heard some guys are using Remington Heavy shot and getting 15 pellets in the kill out to 50 yards...Thanks Leon

:D  :D   Hello Leon,,  I have one of these barrels, in Advantage Timber, real hard to get, discontuined...I sent it to Ballistic Specialties, had them lengthen the forcing cone, 60.00,,and had them install ,,Extended Pigeon Porting 85.00 ..  Yes it is a Turkey killer at fifty yards, most people frawn on shooting a turkey that far, so they say, but when he hangs up at that distance, i bet these same people will try at these ranges. I havent shot the Heavy Shot through it , cause, i went to 12ga, muzzle loader . It will undoubtly shoot better with the Heavy shot, iam sure..  Now that i shoot the muzzle loader barrel, iam thinking of parting with the 12ga cart. barrel. If interested, i can be reached at   bruce581@comcast.net... Ps. and this is only my personal opion, of all the gun out there, for turkey hunting, the Encore is my first choise, Shorter, and lighter than any gun out there, exellent fiber optic sites, and i see no need for a second shot.    Bruce...

Bluesberry, are the 12 gauge turkey barrels also drilled and tapped for a scope mount like the rifle barrels?

:D  :D Yes they are drilled and tapped..  the first set of holes, starts about 4.25in, from the breech end of barrel, and the second set are under the rear sight.   Bruce..

I too am planning a Turkey barrel purchase in the future year or two.  I also think it would make a great turkey gun most importantly because with the swivel stud on the forearm I can mount a swiviling bi-pod.  Nothing gets tiring quicker than having to keep switching knees you have your gun rested on because it is going numb.
