I'm Happy to report that I scored on two of the 330 mound sets one lure with Mound master #1 and one with #2. As promised in my first post here are some photo's. I was approching the secound beaver in a trap when I remember my camera can go underwater. Dah! I took a couple picture of the beaver underwater in the trap. But I had already kicked the muck up a bit so couldn't get the pic's turn out decent. I'm going to try to remember next time and not kick up the water. It was clear till I got my fat feet in there.
First is looking down stream from one of the sets. Right were the creek bends to the right looks like the end of the pond. There is a feed bed there and I supect the beavers are bank denned there.
First Beaver in a trap underwater and he is 54.9lbs and my first black one.
Caught just the way I like to see them.
Secound beaver in the trap in the water 49.6 and I guess a feamle I for got to check??
Caught back farther than I'd like must have hit the trap pretty fast to get that far in.
Then of course everyone likes the tail gate photo
I had traps on one pond made in the stream below where these two were caught. I also had traps on two other ponds made up stream of where these beavers were caught. I'm now wondering if there is just this pair as they were both caught 25 to 30 yards from where I figured they were denning. None of the other traps were disturbed except for one fire in a narrow spot. My guess is a rat or maybe just grass and leaves coming down stream may have fire it. I'll leave my traps in for a bit because there close to home and I added a few rat sets to check. I plan to call the land owner and tell what I caught and have him kick some holes in the dams, see if any of them get repaired.
