I am seeing more and more people having to sell their guns because of the economy, I'm so sorry for them I wish we had some kind of an escrow they could put them in and get them back when times get better, If it ever does

I've always looked on my gun accumilation as my savings account as I'm sure many folks do.  ;) There are no doubt some hardship cases but probably not as many as you think.   :o I know guys that buy a new deer rifle every year and sell it at the end of deer season. Then repeat the process every year.  ;) They figgure they don't need a deer rifle in the summer I guess.

It's called a pawn shop, not the most attractive option, but fits with your description.
I see a lot of people wanting to finance AR builds etc. by selling their other guns they don't use often. That and catastrophic medical bills seem to be the most common reasons I've seen.
