Info on H&R Model 157 30-30
« on: November 17, 2011, 10:18:10 AM »
Thank you in advance for your time

I know little about H&R firearms, but have a mannlicher stocked 157 with weaver mounts and Weaver  K4  60-E scope. The blue and case hardening on the rifle are about 98%,
the bore is bright. I have found on this forum a great interest in these firearms, is this model considered collectable / desirable / not common?? It has been in my possession for many years
and I have never fired it, just not my focus of collecting. If there is any real interest in this piece I can provide images.

Best regards,
                      Leonard

Sorry to disappoint you but these older H&R's aren't worth squat.  But, having a sentimental attachment, I may offer you maybe $100 or so.

Just kidding!  ;)   It is a very desirable model for both H&R shooters and collectors.  Depending upon total overall condition (blue, case, bore, stock) it is likely worth three time or more than what I 'offered' - lol.

  Airsporter,

Got me with the first line :o . Nice sense of humor.  Any interest in images?

  Looking like a good forum,

If you want to sell, go to the H&R classified site http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/board,142.0.html and post an ad with some images.  Nothing to lose.  This is a true 'H&R junky' site!

 Thanks Airsporter

This is out of my realm, I have been a collector all my life, not a seller. I have no idea what a gunshop charges for transfer to an out of state FFL.
Any insight would be appreciated!

Best regards,
                      Leonard

IN GENERAL - the shop will charge you shipping plus a small fee to log in and log out the firearm.  It is lawful for a private party to ship a LONG GUN directly to an FFL through the mail or via bulk carriers.  You'd need to have the out of state purchaser contact his local licensed dealer and then the licensee will arrange with you the shipment of your firearm ONLY to his location.  Some dealers will insist upon an FFL to FFL ONLY transfer of any firearm.
