Remington Model 51
« on: January 10, 2004, 04:33:30 PM »
Just bought an excellent condition model 51 32 auto on Friday. Does any one have information on them?? I've always wanted one since I read an article years back. Saw it in a Pawn Shop and bought it. It's a bear to take down!!! Any pointers and/or parts out there. Already found e-gunparts.com. Thank you.   D. Deal

High Wall:  couple of tips.  (1) get a new set of springs or a spring kit from Wolfe Spring just to keep the frame from getting battered (2) stay away from the 60 gn soft-nose slugs, as they might jam your gun or not have the poop to get it to cycle properly, 'cause yours was designed to handle to regular old 32 auto cartridge with a 71, 73 or 77 gn ball (3) stay away from hot loads, it won't make the 32 auto do any better (4) since you have already found 'gunparts corp', get a new extractor and firing pin - those may be the first parts to go belly up in that older pistol.  Oh Yeah, (5) - enjoy it.  Mikey.
