Tracker II front site question
« on: November 15, 2011, 09:02:29 AM »
Hi All,

Bought a 20 ga. rifled Tracker II off the classifieds and went to the range this morning.  It shot foster slugs (remington) very well with the iron sights.  I was surprised because all the rifled slug barrels I have tried have done poorly with rifled slugs.  The limit to this guns accuracy is due to my old eyes using open sights so a D/T and scope rail will happen soon.  I looked at the front sight which is very similiar to the ones I have removed from 45-70 barrels, but it doesn't have a allen head screw.   How is this sight attached and how best to remove it?

thanks

BB

I did a D/T to mine and never thought about taking the front site off. Mine is a tack driver with lightfields.

BB, the front sight on your Tracker is either welded or brazed on, there is no reason to remove it so I highly suggest you leave it on. It does no harm on, but removing it will reduce the worth and value of the barrel to you and for any future user or owner....<><.... :)
