Does Remington Mark the Model (say CDL, LS,..) on the barrel or receiver of Model Sevens?

I doubt it, but could be wrong.  Those are mostly stock options I believe.  The serial number is on the barrel.  A search on the serial number could ID the type rifle it was, but I don't know for sure.

go to remingtons website. from there you can contact them with the serial number and they will tell you, when it was made, the original configuration and answer questions about barrel markings.  all it takes is an email or two. i am doing this right now with them.
they seem to be will to answer questions , only taking a business day to answer.
also if your barrel has letter codes on the left side of the barrel , near the reciever that can tell you a bit of information too

If I put a CDL stock on a blued action, are my buddies gonna see it's not a CDL?

like charlesp said, the adl,bdl and cdl are options, along with bluing and floor plates.
no , there is no marking on the reciever or barrel that says cdl, or adl.
drop your barreled action on whatever stock you like, use a box mag,  hinged floor or blind mag and enjoy your rifle.
dont get too hung up on the letter designators , if your rifle shoot nice groups your buddies can eat crow

why would you even care what your buddy thought. Ive got a cdl and two other 700s with cdl stocks on them. An 8mag that wasnt available as a cdl and an o6 that was a sps matte blued gun. Id take that 06 over any cdl 06. I like the matte bluing better and the shorter barrel and the things a tack driver. I wouldnt trade it for two cdls.
