Oklahoma Castle Doctrine Expansion Bill Took Effect Today!
On April 25, Governor Mary Fallin signed into law a "Castle Doctrine" expansion bill which went into effect today, November 1.
House Bill 1439 expands the right of an owner, manager, or employee of a business to use deadly force if necessary against an intruder when there is reasonable fear of imminent peril of death or great bodily harm. This bill was authored by state Representative Steve Vaughan (R-37) and state Senator David Myers (R-20).
