Trade or Not?
« on: November 20, 2011, 01:11:42 PM »
I have a chance to trade a real nice 870 20 gauge magnum Wingmaster for a new in the box Colt Signature Navy, a new in the box Colt Signature Army, and an Italian made Remington .44.  Is that a good trade?

well just loosely estimateing the value of the 3 pistols at $150 per gun, thats $450 worth of pistols. whats your gun worth? very possible the colts are worth more than that.are you looking to keep them or turn them for a profit?

I'm not sure.  The fit and finish on the Colts is amazing.

I'd sure be minus one 870,guess it really depends on how much you want the pistols.

The Colts normally bring around $500.00 each.

I never could figure out why the so called second gen colt's are priced higher than other italian repro's. (It being my understanding that they were made in Italy but finished here). Not so sure I would trade, but then if I did, I'd sell the colt clones at a premium and get something else.

That's probably what I'll do.  I may keep the Remington for CW Reenacting.

I just picked up the sack of BP revolvers.  They were not exactly as described.  It turned out to be a second generation Colt 1851 Navy, a second generation 1862 Colt pocket pistol, and a brass framed 1858 Remington.  I've been shooting black powder for many years but I've never fired live rounds through a black powder revolver.  I originaly thought I'd sell them but I think I'll keep them at least for awhile.  They have some handling marks and the boxes weren't with them.  They do appear unfired.  They are not the Signature Models thank the Lord but they are Colts.
