barrel wobble

when i lock up my 25 06 , if out holoe the gun on the butstock you can wigle the barrel ever so slightly? So why is that, and what can i do to fix it, if needed.

I recomend you go back to the FAQ's and read on fitting a barrel. All needed info is there!

I also recommend reading the FAQ's but if you just want to get an idea of how thick of a shim you will need to tighten that puppy up, just get an aluminum pop can or that of your favorite beverage and cut a strip wide enough to wrap around the hinge pin.
Don't overlap the the strip, but just enough to wrap completely around the pin, and then fit the barrel back onto the pin over the shim and see if she locks up, and then test it for motion.
Chances are it should lock up tight according to your description, and this is not a permanent fix by any means and it will at least give you an idea of how thick a shim you will need.
Stainless steel feeler gauges from the autoparts store are your best bet, and you have various sizes to make sure you get it right.
After that just follow the FAQ's

ok, could some one help me out, i read how to fix it but im a little conused, what do i need and what am i actually working on? i never "opened" up a handi rifle so i dont no what im doing and i love this gun.

They'll repair it or replace the barrel, whatever is necessary, I wouldn't worry about any "stories" or other internet BS you've heard.  ;)

Thank you both for your kind words, but that is what this site is all about and what makes it great is that we can share our experiences, and also give a little back for what we've also received.

It's like that old saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" which isn't exactly true, because I learn something just about every day interacting with the good folks here.

They'll defintaly fix it.  I bought a used shotgun from a pawn shop that had a lock up problem.  I sent it to them expecting them to charge me for fixing it.  They shipped it back fixed for free.

You probably have already found out, but I will say it anyway, they wont charge you to fix it, and with you following the right procedure to get shipping authorization and all it shouldnt cost you to ship it. The extra barrel will cost; others who have had new barrels fitted recently are better at giving you an idea regarding that.
